Check back in a couple of weeks and we'll have our recap of the 10th Anniversary Eagle Watch Weekend posted. See you in 2011!

From our 2009 event:

Eagle Watch Weekend 2009 was a huge success! We found eagles on every outing in spite of the frozen lake. And folks were treated to a special sight on the caravans of a mated pair of bald eagles on the nest just a short scope view away.

But we saw other birds throughout the weekend as well. Below is the complete list from the 2009 event - 52 species - not a record, but still a great weekend of birding at Lake Monroe - Indiana's premier birdwatching area. Details on the 2011 event (February 4 - 6) including the complete agenda, brochure, mail-in and phone-in registration will be available later this year on eaglesatlakemonroe.com, the Official Website of Eagle Watch Weekend. See you there!

>>>>>     Another great book on the BirdCountry.US bookshelf     <<<<<

Pete Dunne on Bird Watching-

The How-To, Where=To, and When-To of Birding

Pete Dunne, Houghton Mifflin Company, paperback, 334 pages.

"Going afield with this book is almost like having Pete Dunne himself in your birding party."

- Robert Michael Pyle

While there are many books on the market today about bird watching and how to be a better birder, in our opinion, none even come close to the thoroughness of this great book by the winner of the American Birding Association's Roger Tory Peterson Award for Promoting the Cause of Birding. Every birder, no matter what their level of expertise will find value in this book. To the beginner, it is invaluable ... and extremely affordable. Only $12.00.
