BirdCountry.US is dedicated to the conservation of all avian species native to the continental United States through scientifically-valid research and affordable education in avian biology, behavior, and ecology for all bird and nature enthusiasts, regardless of skill level.
Backed by nearly 20 years experience presenting educational programs on birds and bird conservation, our education efforts run the gamut from hour-long view-at-home programs to Eagle Watch Weekend, Indiana's premier eagle viewing and birding event; the new Hill Country Warbler Fest, destined to become the Midwest's # 1 event celebrating the warblers of our eastern deciduous forests; our Feathered Fundamentals Workshop; and our "take-at-home" college-level Conservation Ornithology course. Many of these programs are available for your personal or organization's use in the classroom, a nature center, your living room, or just about anywhere else.
In addition to our educational activities, we are actively involved in research projects throughout the year so we can better understand birds and the roles that birders of all skill levels can take to further enhance that understanding. Two of our programs, the BirdCountry.US Nestbox Program and the Citizen Research Sponsorship Program, are specifically designed so virtually anyone in the country can contribute to avian conservation efforts in their own area. Whether it be through everyday observations, citizen science projects or scientifically-rigid studies, the conservation efforts of numerous agencies, organizations, and individuals, like you, are the key to enhancing the conservation of birds no matter where you live.
